I had this conversation with a friend of mine. He disagreed lifting is lower class coded because his upscale nj suburb is full of jacked lawyers and doctors. I pointed out most of them probably come from blue collar families
It's definitely changed over the past 20 years, but there is still a boomer driven stereotype that has yet to disappear
